History of Chocolate Jazz
Since August 2008, Chocolate Jazz has conducted over 20 Fundraisers for public schools in West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and Missouri raising over $35,000 for the music departments in their areas. The response has been overwhelmingly good and the school districts are eager to repeat the event on an annual basis. The Spirit of Twin Lakes Band Boosters is raising funds for new uniforms. Chocolate jazz gave us a net profit of over $4,500.00. In addition to featuring the extraordinary talent of David Wells, we featured our Winter Drum Line, Jazz Band and Concert Band. We also hosted a silent auction that included fun band items...marching season set-books, old show shirts, etc. The result was a huge success in our community. People I don't even know stop and tell me how great chocolate jazz was!!! Most important of all, the students loved meeting David and hearing this gifted professional jazz musician perform in person. The Chocolate Jazz experience is a wonderful evening of delicious chocolate, desserts, and great music. It is fun for young, old, and in-between. I enjoyed having Mr. David Wells present a Chocolate Jazz fund raiser for our school band program. Our jazz band, The Swing Jive Tribe, performed for the first thirty minutes and then David took the stage and wooed the audience with his presentation. In conjunction with my band boosters, David made this event a wonderful fund raising experience. Everyone enjoyed the evening and is looking forward to the next Chocolate Jazz performance. We hosted a "Chocolate Jazz" concert as part of our regularly scheduled school concert, and it was a big hit. I am still receiving rave reviews from anyone who was in attendance. As a Band/Choir director, I believe it is vitally important to expose the students/parents to outstanding performances with professional musicians, and Chocolate Jazz delivered. Opening Night
To kick-off the Chocolate Jazz Fundraiser, the doors open approximately 1 hour early to allow sponsors, parents and students indulge themselves with chocolate desserts and beverages.
Sponsors will get a chance to mingle with event Entertainers, VIP’s and Dignitaries.
Music is started with the local school band(s) followed by a Top of the Charts Smooth Jazz Artist which currently is David Wells and will be adding Matt Marshak with the goal of adding different artists each year this event is repeated.
Event Details (2 Part)
(Part 1)
David an “Endorsed Performer” for Conn/Selmer, the largest manufacturing company for band instruments, will be visiting multiple schools, 6th through 12th grade, reaching in the neighborhood of 800 to 3000 students. David will be conducting a mini-concert and a motivational message, lasting 35 to 45 minutes. At the conclusion of the assemblies, David will have volunteers to hand out flyers, which will include the sponsor's logo, informing the students about the upcoming "Chocolate Jazz" concert.
(Part 2)
Dates, Times and Locations: Local community Schools or Venues
Attendees: 400 – 1500, depending on size of the community and school.
Target Demographics: Adults 25 – 65 years of age w/income range of $40,000 to $150,000. This market has mid to high levels of discretionary income (average household income of $75,000)
Cost: Ticket prices can range from $10 - $25 for adults and $5 for students. General Admission seating w/reserved seating for V.I.P.’s.

Target Audience
Our media and promotional campaign is aimed directly at the following demographic and psychographic groups.
Adults between the ages of 25 and 65 years of age from the local markets.
Professionals and business owners seeking networking opportunities.Individuals and families seeking inexpensive but upscale entertainment.
Media Exposure
A strategic marketing and advertising plan is in place to generate interest and awareness of the Chocolate Jazz Fundraiser. Included in this plan are radio and newspaper interviews with special artist that will perform at the fundraiser.
Media Outreach
In the past, Chocolate Jazz Fundraiser was supported with several hours of combined airtime on local radio stations supporting the event. We also enjoyed support from local newspapers and TV stations. We expect to exceed our sponsorhip agreements with all existing media sponsors and hope to add publications and radio stations outside the regional areas.
In addition to conventional advertising methods, Chocolate Jazz Fundraiser and local schools will promote the event by displaying several posters, banners, flyer’s throughout the local area. Chocolate Jazz runs a website year round that generates several hits during the months prior to the event. All sponsors will be listed on the website.

Exclusive Presenting Partner
•The official name designation of “Chocolate Jazz” presented by (your company)” used in all “Chocolate Jazz concerts,” for 2009 to 2010 (20 concerts).
•The official name designation of “Chocolate Jazz” presented by (your company)” used in all print advertising, website, and other Festival related materials.
• We will include your logo in the print advertising 4-6 weeks preceding the concert. Each ad will reach the readers in which the concert is held.
• Your product or service will be marketed to all attendees. This includes the opportunity to arrange a display to market your product or service throughout the event.
•Stage announcements regarding your company’s Presenting Partnership made throughout the evening.
•Representative interview on stage during the concert.
•Recognized as the Presenting Partner on the Chocolate Jazz website, with a link to the Partner website.
•Will receive 10 tickets to attend or give away before concert.
Platinum Partner
•Featured as Platinum Partner in all print advertising and promotional material for all Chocolate Jazz concerts for 2009 to 2010 (20 concerts).
•Category exclusivity for your product or service.
•Your product or service will be marketed to all attendees at the Chocolate Jazz concerts. This includes the opportunity to arrange a display to market your product or service night of Chocolate Jazz.
•We will include your logo in the print advertising which will 4-6 weeks preceding the concert. Each ad will reach the metro area.
•Recognized on the “Chocolate Jazz website with a link to the Partner website.
•Stage announcements regarding your partnership made throughout the evening.
•Will receive 10 tickets to “Chocolate Jazz” to either give away or to attend concert.
Gold Partner
•Your product or service will be marketed to all attendees of Chocolate Jazz concerts, for 2009 to 2010
•Table will be provided at all Chocolate Jazz concerts for marketing purposes.
•Featured as Gold Partner on the Chocolate Jazz website with a link to the sponsor’s website.
•Prominent name recognition in scrolling list of partners during the Chocolate Jazz concert.
•Stage announcements regarding your partnership made throughout the evening.
Silver Partner
•Your product or service marketed to all Chocolate Jazz attendees for 2009 2010 (20 to 35 concerts).
•Featured as Silver Partner on Chocolate Jazz website with a link to the partner website.
•Prominent name recognition in scrolling list of partners during the festival on video screens.
